Karwa Chauth is celebrated on 4th day of Krishna Paksha or dark-fortnight in the month of Kartik. Karva Chauth is observed by the Married Women. Karva Chauth means Chauth is considered to be the fourth day and Karva is an earthen pot. The festival of Karva Chauth is celebrated mostly by North India. Procedure on Karwa Chauth :

Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi and their son God Kartikeya are worshiped on this day along with the Karvas (earthen pots) filled with sweets. In the evening This Karvas will be exchanged between neighbors who are observing fast. In The Evening Woman's Observe Puja while During puja, elders narrate the stories of Karva Chauth and women sing songs relating to Karva Chauth. When moon appears, prayers are offered to the moon Then fasting women's first sees the moon through a sieve then Their husband's face. After Seeing through sieve husband's brings a plate and offers her Firstly water will be drinked then the sweet and food to break her fast. Generally Red or pink Saree will be preferred. Newly married woman wears the wedding dress and ornaments. Karva Chauth preparation will be started before few days of the actual festival means sweets preparation and Sargi.
